Post School Options (PSO)

These programs provide ongoing day-to-day support for service users to gain greater access and participation in community-based activities.

Programs primarily focus on recreational activities that focus on skill development and independence in a variety of life skill areas aiming to provide enjoyment, leisure and social interaction.

Alternatives to Employment (ATE)

These programs provide support for service users who are unable to maintain paid employment, to gain greater access, and to participate in community based activities.

Programs focus on continuing education to develop independence in a variety of life areas or enjoyment, leisure and social interaction.

My Life My Community

The program has attracted more than 240 participants over three and a half years, with the specific aims of:
  • Assisting community agencies to make their services more accessible to People with Disabilities;
  • Generate a range of supports, training and alternatives to employment and so providing opportunities for People with Disabilities to improve their life skills and to develop positive social roles;
  • Provide a respite program for families through the development of a range of supports in their role as carer.

In practice.....

We partner with community agencies to assist them to deliver recreational and developmental programs which are more inclusive and appropriate to the needs of people with disabilities, and to support the participants in their chosen activities.

To join in.....

The majority of activities are free, offered at various community venues in the Great Southern region of WA, and are entirely accessible and appropriate for People with Disabilities and their carers.

The My Life, My Community program is accessible to anyone who is registered, or eligible for registration, with the Disability Services Commission.
